  • Trichloroacetic acid peels (12% and 15%) are Dermaceutic superficial peel systems, these peels act as a chemexfoliation, breaking down the bonds between your skin cells which deeply exfoliates the skin, reducing concerns such as pigmentation, scarring and aging concerns.

    The TCA peel is neutralised by the water in the skin known as ‘self-neutralising’ this allows your clinician to provide a deeper peel, which ultimately provides more significant results.

  • TCA peels treat a variety of skin concerns:

    • Pigmented Lesions and general pigmentation.

    • Keratosis pilaris

    • Scarring: Acne scarring, trauma scarring, surgical scars etc.

    • Dull, dry skin.

    • Fine lines and wrinkles.

  • TCA peels can have a variable down time, often 5-7 days of downtime is expected. Days 1 and 2 the skin may feel tight, and tender to the touch. And by day 3 the patient may begin to see a light shedding; this shedding may last up to day 7 or may last up to 10 days post treatment.

    Pigmentation may appear darker for a short period of time as the skin lifts and sheds and will proceed to lighten post shedding.

    It is important that you DO NOT touch, pick, pull or exfoliate the skin in this time, picking or pulling the skin prematurely can cause scarring, pigmentary changes and in severe cases infection. Keep the skin well moisturised throughout the day and night to help reduce the appearance of flakiness.

  • It is common for patients to have 1-2 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart for optimal results, however, your skin is unique! A thorough consultation and preparation are needed for optimal treatment outcomes.

  • IPL treatments are usually spaced out 4 to 6 weeks apart before moving into a maintenance program which is recommended at 12-week intervals.

  • When you arrive, your clinician will take you through a thorough consultation. Your clinician will perform a thorough clinical cleanse, testing your natural barrier functioning.

    As the treatment begins, your clinician will work in sections with the peel, you will feel light to moderate tingling sensations and itchiness over the face/area treated.

    Post treatment your clinician will apply a Cosmo cream, which you can rinse 4-8 hours later.
