LED Medilux

LED uses a variety of wavelengths, here at NSSC we use the Medilux LED which uses:

• 415nm (Blue)- reducing sebaceous activity, helps to control breakouts and reduces acne causing bacteria.

• 520nm (Green)- Anti-inflammatory action to reduce swelling and strengthen capillaries.

• 590nm (Yellow)- Increases skin hydration, thickness and delivers redness reduction.

• 633nm (Red)- Encourages circulation and collagen production for age management.

• 830nm (Near Infrared)- Boosts ATP for deep cellular regeneration and wound healing.

The Light Emitting Diode penetrates the skin at varying depths to stimulating cellular energy (ATP), enhancing cellular metabolism and functioning. One of the main cells affected are the Fibroblast, which are responsible for protein and collagen production, this aids with ‘anti-aging’ affects and wound healing.

LED is ideal for conditions affecting the face, neck and decolletage including:

• Concerns with Aging – Fine lines and wrinkles.

• Redness, associated with rosacea and dermatitis.

• Uneven skin tone and texture.

• Dull complexion.

• Wound healing.

• Active acne concerns

• Hydration, crepiness of the skin, and strengthening.

LED is ‘lunchtime treatment’ meaning you will be in and out within the hour with minimal to no downtime.

The LED will feel like a gentle heating on the skin; however, this is not direct heating of the epidermis, rather the stimulation of cellular activity within the tissue. The patient may experience a mild redness post treatment which should reduce after an hour.

If you experience redness post-procedure, makeup may be applied if required.

LED is a versatile treatment, with patients being able to schedule LED twice weekly, or as needed, it can be used in conjunction with other modalities or on its own.

Often our clients will schedule 5 treatments ahead of time to secure their spot, for skin concerns or relaxation purposes!

However, each patient is provided with a thorough consultation and treatment is based on the individual needs of the patient as no skin is the same!

LED can be performed up to two times weekly, alternatively, LED appointments can be scheduled Bi-weekly or on top of other treatments.

LED has the fantastic ability to combine with other treatments and more often a combination of treatments is the best way to achieve significant results!

• LED and Vessel treatment: Targeting diffused redness and vessels such as broken capillaries, spider veins, and cherry angiomas.

• LED and Laser Genesis: Targeting various skin concerns such as aging, redness, acne and general rejuvenation. This treatment is also fantastic for someone who wants that relaxation factor too.

• LED and a Peel: This includes a peel customised for the patients’ needs and LED.

• LED and IPL: Targeting various skin concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, redness and scarring concerns (Please note, pigmented lesions may darken for a period post treatment due to UV rays.)

When you arrive, your clinician will take you through a thorough consultation. Your clinician will perform a thorough clinical cleanse, testing your natural barrier functioning and apply safety eyewear.

As the treatment begins, your clinician will position the LED head over the area of treatment, you will be able to hear the fan of the LED, and when switched on you may be able to see the light being emitted, this can sometimes be quite bright even with the goggles on, so please let your clinician know if it is too much!

A gentle heating sensation may be felt, but this should be very comfortable.
